Eirika | Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Your Name: Mei.
Contact Method: medjed#1157
Are you over 18? Yes.
Other characters: New player.

Character's Name: Eirika.

Character's Canon: Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.

Profile for your character: A princess forced out of her home suddenly due to the threat of war, Eirika spends most of her time traveling alongside an esteemed knight of her kingdom (Seth) in search of her twin brother. With her homeland invaded and the death of her father who was the king, she is forced into a leadership position all while the weight of a potential crown rests on her head. While other members of royalty in the surrounding lands offer to keep her safe, she insists on traveling herself as to not burden them (or to paint a target on their back) because it's important to her that she reunites with her brother, Ephraim.

Notoriously kind, her sweet demeanor often is underestimated by those around her and while she is taken advantage at times due to her naivete, Eirika is, for the most part, a girl with a good head on her shoulders. Traveling throughout the continent of Magvel, she meets many people from different backgrounds and gains a better understanding of the kingdoms that neighbor her own. It's a journey that both enlightens and teaches her as she learns to balance benevolence with duty. When it comes to slaying the demonic threat that has taken over her friend and doing what's right, she goes right for the kill. Even though she opposes violence, she's not above fighting if it's what needs to be done, though if given the opportunity to forgive someone rather than fight them, she would most definitely sway towards an apology. It's her brother who enjoys the thrill of the fight, and since she is often having to pick up after him due to that behavior, it's understandable why she's not pleased with battle in general.

She's not a tactical genius nor is she well versed in combat, though it seems she can hold her own quite well. Having been taught how to wield a rapier a few years prior to the start of the war by her brother, she prefers combat to be swift and up close. She's familiar in both riding a horse and fighting atop one, as well as camping out in the wilderness and tending to one's wounds.

Writing Sample: link to a meme thread I mostly wrote while out of the country on vacation.

Why do you believe your character is an appropriate fit for this game? Even though she has spent most of her journey balancing the mental weights of a tactical leader and princess, she hasn't been able to spend much time in a position where her word is law. Throughout her travels in Magvel, she is undermined by her far more experienced troops (such as her knight Seth, who is well versed in both politics and combat) and protected by a number of men. To be placed in an environment where she doesn't have these safe guards and has to make decisions that could have an affect on others would be interesting to see. Having to defend her role possibly (if she gets assigned to one) would be an interesting take as well: as a princess, she has likely always had her royalty given to her. Having to fight to maintain it or to accept that the newcomer might be better at it could be an interesting thing to play through. Will she forgive or be caught up in the pride that royalty often surrounds themselves with?

What would you like to do with your character in this game? Have her grow in a way that we don't get to see in canon. Since her brother assumes the throne when they return, she just remains a helpful princess who aids in the restoration of Magvel in whole. Basically she gets kind of shoved into the typical end game role and I'd like to see her expand beyond that. This game can test her in ways she wasn't tested in canon and open up opportunities for relationships that were denied in her game.

Do you understand the rules? Yes, they're fairly reasonable. I don't see why anyone would have issue with them. I found this place via a replurk btw!
