Application
The application process is pretty simple. This is intended to cut down on the time the moderator spends reviewing applications, as well as to simplify entry into the game. While applications are considered a process by which mods can determine if someone is truly invested in play, Dusk of the Gods has an overall format which requires regular activity, and has several measures in place to prevent the dreaded "character squatter".
Please fill out the provided form and submit it as a comment in the responses. As the application form is very straightforward and should require no revisions, applications will either be Accepted or Rejected.
If your application is rejected, please wait one month before applying again (as you would for a game with a normal application cycle) unless you are given other directions.
The application is really easy. You literally just have to follow instructions.
Applications are reviewed within 24-48 hours of submission. If 48 hours have passed and your application has not been reviewed, please reply to your application with a note reminding the mod to get on it.

Are you over 18? Yes!
Other characters: N/A
Character's Name: Nathan Byrn
Character's Canon: That mess of a series, Sally Green’s Half Bad Trilogy
Profile for your character: Nathan Byrn is a quiet, nature-loving, caring Scottish boy wrapped in eighty thorny layers of trauma, torture, loss, scars of the psychological and physical kind and a multitude of other Bad Things. Born as a Half Code, i.e. half White witch and half Black, and as the son of one of the most infamous Black witches Britain has ever seen, he has grown up feared and punished for his very existence. As such, he is very much a product of his experiences; he is not quick to trust but he is quick to anger, tends to lean on violence rather than diplomacy, and can be ignorant to the wants and needs of others. Instincts, whether they be for survival or revenge, often rule his decisions.
That said, Nathan strives for goodness. He wants (and struggles) to find positivity in his life, and he wishes his mark on the world—if he has to leave one—could be one of change in the face of injustice. While moody and sarcastic at the best of times, he is capable of great kindness and gentleness towards those he has become close to, and while it may take him time to recognize his mistakes, he does own up to his weaknesses and his wrongs.
He is skilled in physical combat and can utilize a collection of magical Gifts (full list here) given to him by his father (by more tragic means involving eating... the man's heart), but all in all he would rather stretch out on a grassy hill in Wales away from technology (it tends to mess with his head) than have to kill anyone else, thanks.
Nathan can not really read or write, but he excels at art.
Writing Sample: Zetes is a lot cheerier than Nathan, but here is an example of how I generally do things!
Why do you believe your character is an appropriate fit for this game? To put it mildly, Nathan needs a break. He has spent the entirety of his life imprisoned under brutal conditions, running from those that would see him dead or manipulated, or fighting a war between witches he would have preferred to avoid. Leaving his home world would grant him a freedom he’s never had, a freedom which would afford him time to recover from a lifetime worth’s of trauma and a chance to make his own choices.
What would you like to do with your character in this game? I’d be interested in Nathan becoming the God of Animals and embracing that responsibility. And I’m just desperate for him to have some peace and quiet and quality time with Gabriel. (Maybe even make some friends!)
Do you understand the rules? I do!
